We are pleased to announce that Canberra’s first adolescent mental health hospital in the Deakin medical precinct in on track to open in January 2023. On completion, ‘Deakin Private Hospital’ will be a fully-integrated inpatient, day patient and outpatient mental health hospital; inclusive of state-of-the-art technology to support improved experience and care, for both patients and staff.
Deakin Private Hospital represents a $27 million investment into the ACT’s mental health sector; built in partnership with Aurora Healthcare Australia (hospital operator) and Barwon Investment Partners (Fund Manager).
Stage one, comprising 52 beds, group therapy rooms and doctors’ consulting suites will open in January 2023. Stage two is anticipated to expand the hospital to over 80 beds, with the completed project occupying a prime site adjacent to the John James Memorial Hospital Campus; co-located with the Deakin Health Hub, a 1,000sqm medical consulting facility.
