Ray has worked this industry for more than 25 years commencing with Towers Perrin in 1990 where he was Manager, Asset Consulting. In 1994 he joined Industry Fund Services (IFS). Ray was responsible for the development of its asset consulting (now Frontier Advisers) and funds management (Industry Funds Management) businesses. He was also a Partner of Mercer heading their Global Alternatives Boutique in APAC from 2012 to 2015.
Ray is today recognised as a leading adviser on alternative assets in Australia, having worked with a vast number of superannuation funds since 1990 to establish some of the largest investment programs in Australia.
He began his career at BHP in 1974 and previous work experience included being Chief Economist for a major public authority. Ray is a director of VFMC. He was made a Life Member of the Australian Chapter of IMCA in 2012,which he founded in 2000.
Rick founded Verity Capital in 2005. Rick was CEO of Superannuation Funds Management Corporation of South Australia (Funds SA) from 2000-2005 and CEO of the South Australian Government Financing Authority from 1994-2000.
In recent years, Rick has also been a director of ASX-listed diversified financial services company, IOOF Holdings Limited, and Chairman of Barclays Global Investors’ Australian compliance committee.

Peter has a wide range of investment experience, working predominantly with emerging companies in both the private and public markets. Prior to joining Barwon, he worked in corporate advisory at Patersons Securities. Prior to Patersons Securities, Peter was an Investment Manager at Macquarie Bank in their technology venture capital fund, which made seed investments in companies such as Seek and LookSmart. Peter commenced his career as a barrister and solicitor in commercial litigation.

Jonathon has been actively involved in property development finance since 2012. In that time, Jonathon has worked with a variety of developers, advisors and capital arrangers. In 2015, as the head of east coast operations for a multi-family investment house, Jonathon successfully led the company’s expansion into the New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland markets. Jonathon began his career in Perth working in funds management and corporate advisory for listed and private mining and resources companies.
Jonathon is an active and committed advocate of the property finance sector and has held committee positions with both the Property Council of Australia and the Urban Development Institute of Australia.

Prior to joining Walsh & Co, James was a sell-side research analyst at Winterflood Securities, covering the listed investment companies sector in London.

Sam Armstrong has been involved in alternative investments since 1990. Prior to Barwon, Sam was the Joint Managing Partner of Quay Partners, a specialist private equity fund-of-funds business founded in 2000. Quay Partners was the first independent private equity fund of funds and secondaries specialist in Australia. Before forming Quay Partners, Sam was Head of Alternatives at Macquarie where he worked for over 10 years. Sam developed an alternatives investment strategy at Macquarie that included investments across a wide range of asset classes including Australian private equity, international private equity, infrastructure and opportunistic property.
