Barwon reveals the Logan Central Community Mental Health and Addiction Centre

September 13, 2021 / Healthcare Property

Barwon Investment Partners (Barwon) is proud to showcase the recently completed Logan Central Community Mental Health and Addiction Centre. This newly completed mental health facility is within a close proximity to the 485-bed Logan Hospital which is the major health centre servicing the Logan region in the state of Queensland.

This new facility comprises 1,054 sqm of space for Community Mental Health Services with the building exclusively leased to Queensland Health for 10 years.  Of this space,  675 sqm will be dedicated to the QLD Health Adolescent Day Program which provides an alternative to hospital care for young people with severe and complex mental health issues while also supporting their families and/or carers.

Day programs work closely with the Department of Education to provide an integrated education and mental health treatment service.  This allows young people to:

  • attend the program up to 5 days per week
  • remain living at home and engaged in their local community
  • be supported to reintegrate back to community-based education and treatment.
