Ray joined Barwon’s Investment Advisory Committee in August 2015. Ray is currently Managing Director of Sovereign Investment Research, a firm he founded in 2000. His role includes providing specialist investment advice and consulting to institutional investors and investment managers.
Ray has worked this industry for more than 25 years commencing with Towers Perrin in 1990 where he was Manager, Asset Consulting. In 1994 he joined Industry Fund Services (IFS). Ray was responsible for the development of its asset consulting (now Frontier Advisers) and funds management (Industry Funds Management) businesses. He was also a Partner of Mercer heading their Global Alternatives Boutique in APAC from 2012 to 2015.
Ray is today recognised as a leading adviser on alternative assets in Australia, having worked with a vast number of superannuation funds since 1990 to establish some of the largest investment programs in Australia.
He began his career at BHP in 1974 and previous work experience included being Chief Economist for a major public authority. Ray is a director of VFMC. He was made a Life Member of the Australian Chapter of IMCA in 2012, which he founded in 2000.
